Connecting factory telematics from several equipment brands into one platform is often sold as a way to see the whole fleet in near real time. A help article from EquipmentShare's T3, dated Sept. 9, 2026, shows how far that depends on the manufacturer: the OEM feeds T3 supports update anywhere from every 15 minutes to once a day.
T3 connects to these systems through the AEMP telematics standard, ISO 15143-3, using what the standard calls a fleet snapshot. A snapshot captures the latest values for every connected machine at one point in time, and each OEM decides how often it refreshes that snapshot.
How often each feed updates
According to T3's documentation, these OEM feeds update every 15 minutes:
- Caterpillar VisionLink
- John Deere JDLink
- Volvo CareTrack
- Vermeer VermeerOne
These update every 60 minutes:
- Case SiteWatch
- Hitachi/Kawasaki AEMP API
- Hyundai HiMate
- Liebherr LiDAT
- Rokbak Haul Track
- Samsara AEMP API
- Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM)
Komatsu KOMTRAX updates once every 24 hours, at midnight in the time zone where the machine is located, T3 says.
Limited data, too
Frequency is not the only constraint. T3 notes that AEMP feeds carry a limited set of data and update less often than its own tracker devices. Across all supported OEMs it standardizes on six data types: engine status, fuel level, idle hours, GPS location, odometer reading and operating hours. Vermeer does not provide odometer readings.
T3 also says it does not currently support the time-series capability in the AEMP standard, which delivers a history of readings rather than the latest snapshot. Some manufacturers, including Caterpillar, now offer time-series endpoints in their own ISO 15143-3 APIs.
What the intervals mean in practice
A 15-minute feed is enough for routine checks on location, hours and fuel. An hourly feed still works for daily utilization and maintenance planning, but can miss short moves or brief idle periods. A once-a-day feed is better suited to hour-meter tracking and billing than to dispatch, theft response or same-day decisions.
The intervals T3 lists describe its own integrations and are set by each OEM. They are not guaranteed transmission rates for every model, subscription or integration, and other platforms may see different timing from the same manufacturers.
