Inspiration Fleet launches Garage 2.0, a vendor-agnostic fleet data platform

Inspiration Fleet has introduced Garage 2.0, an AI-based platform that pulls data from vehicle, telematics, fuel, energy and operational systems into one environment. The company says customers can choose and switch technology vendors without migrating the whole fleet management platform.

Inspiration Fleet has introduced Garage 2.0, which it describes as an AI-based fleet intelligence platform that consolidates data from multiple fleet systems into a single environment, according to Automotive Fleet.

The platform is built to ingest and normalize data from different sources, including vehicle, telematics, fuel, energy and operational systems. Fleet managers can then view that information through real-time KPIs and role-based dashboards.

Fragmentation, not scarcity

Inspiration Fleet frames the product around a data problem it says operators already have. "With more data available than ever before, fleet operators don't have a data availability problem; they have a fragmentation problem," said Chris Getner, the company's chief technology officer.

Beyond the fleet department

Garage 2.0 can also integrate fleet information with enterprise systems outside the traditional fleet function, including finance, sustainability and facilities. The stated aim is for fleet data to feed broader organizational decisions instead of staying inside individual fleet or vendor platforms.

The system is designed to support mixed powertrains: internal combustion, hybrid-electric and battery-electric vehicles. Inspiration Fleet said it can also incorporate data tied to non-vehicle assets, services, technology vendors and EV charging infrastructure.

Vendor-agnostic design

A central feature is a vendor-agnostic architecture. Rather than requiring fleets to use a set group of technology providers, the company said Garage 2.0 lets customers select vendors and switch providers without migrating the entire fleet management platform.

Automotive Fleet notes this could matter for fleets that add new technologies or replace individual systems without rebuilding the connections between their fleet data and the rest of the organization.

CEO Josh Green said: "Every fleet is unique." The company says the platform is meant to create a customized fleet management ecosystem around each customer's mix of vehicles, vendors, systems and operational requirements.

What is not yet clear

The source material does not say which telematics providers or data standards Garage 2.0 supports, how the AI is used, what it costs, or when it is available. Fleets evaluating it will need those details from the company. The claims about normalization and vendor switching are the company's own and have not been independently tested.
